It's title combines the words "friend" and "stranger", describing someone who is "not quite a friend but not quite a stranger." Widely regarded as the band's breakthrough release, Frengers blends atmospheric indie rock with progressive influences, combining ambitious arrangements with memorable melodies. The album features the singles 156, Am I Wry? No, and Comforting Sounds, and includes guest vocals from Stina Nordenstam on Her Voice Is Beyond Her Years and 13-year-old Georgia Becky Jarrett on Symmetry.
